Trip to Overton and the Clark County Fair

Cody had to go to Las Vegas to take the Nevada Boards so he can practice in Vegas if he wants to, so I decided to go with him and stay at my mom's for a couple of days. Monday Cody went to take his test and hooray passed!! While he was taking the test we were having fun at Nana Papa's house. Taylyn loves going down there and bossing my parents and Bruno around. Cody came home that night but had to go back to Cedar the next day to work. We stayed and played and had a blast. The first thing Taylyn did when we got there was go to see Bruno and ask or should I say tell my mom they needed to take Bruno for a walk, which they did! She spent a lot of time with him because they weather was beautiful and we had been stuck in our house because it was cold in Cedar. She wanted to be outside all day!
Jaxon loved all the attention and be held all the time. My sister came the day before we left so he had someone to hold him the entire day. He was quite content with that!
Taylyn loved Papa and needed to know where he was the whole time we were there. She woke up asking me where he was every morning. After her nap she needed to sit with her Papa. Papa fell asleep but Taylyn snuggled with him for quite a while anyway!
Nana was brave and let her help with making bread and cookies. She made quite a mess but made sure my mom washed off her hands if they got dirty with the flour. Tay helped with pouring in the flour but kept getting too close and her measuring cup went in with the the dough. They had to fish it out a couple of times.

She wasn't so sure about the dough on her hand. She had so much fun and loves to cook!
Since Cody and I started dating we have joked about me raising pigs and going to the Clark County Fair. Well after 6 years I finally got him to go and he actually liked it!!!! I wish I could have video taped his face when we walked into the area where I used to show and keep my pig. He couldn't believe it.It sure brought back so many fun memories of caring and showing my 4 different pigs. My nephew Garrett, Taylyn and I standing by his pig!
Uncle Brent even let Taylyn ride on the pig. She wasn't sure about that.
She loved the small animal tent but was on overload and couldn't look fast enough. She absolutely loved the pony ride and even got brave enough the second time and went all by her self. I was sure glad I didn't have to walk around the circle again. We had Cody's cousins come out and Tay enjoyed riding with the kids, but I still didn't get out of riding with her. Here she is with Brynlee and Davis. She really surprised Cody and I and went from one ride to another all by herself. She was having a blast!

Bryn and Taylyn

Cody was pleasantly surprised at how much fun the fair actually is after all those years of making fun of all of us when we talk about it. I made him eat all the foods that I used to eat to make sure he got the full effect. He decided next year we might need to go for 2 days!!!

What the ....?

Yes that is a Snow Lion made from snow in April. I was not at all pleased and was ready to move back to Florida in a heartbeat. I don't mind having snow in the winter but by April I am ready for spring. Taylyn, however, has overcome her fear of snow and was elated with the idea of snow. She asked Cody the minute he walked in the door from work to build her a snow lion. He questioned her with," you mean a snowman?" With which she replied, "No Daddy I want a snow yin (snow lion), that be fun!" So he changed his clothes and out with the winter gear and they set off on a mission to create a snow lion! This was Taylyn's idea of helping to build the Snow Lion.....eating and sweeping the snow!
Here the are hard at work. Cody put a lot of thought in to making Taylyn a snow lion that actually looked like one. Tay was so excited and couldn't stop talking about it the entire time they were making it and for the next 3 days! It's looking more and more like a lion!
Tay and Cody were quite proud of their snow lion. I was too, they did a great job. They were trying to figure out some other cool things to make next year. Hopefully they will have to wait until next year to build them. I am done with the cold and snow!
Here is the final result that actually stayed with us for about 3 days it was so cold!

Jax Update

Jaxon has had a rough time in this new world. Many things have happened to the poor little guy. He was such a good baby for the first couple of weeks and is definitely a momma's boy. The minute he hears me his heard turns and he starts to cry. Most of the time I love it because Taylyn has always been 100% a Daddy's girl, so it is nice to have one of my own. After a couple of weeks he started crying a lot and spitting up so bad I was changing his clothes, blankets and a couple burp clothes a couple times a day. He was also grunting and pulling his legs up all day like he was in pain. Then he got so stuffy he was having a hard time even breathing. So I took him in to the doctor. Diagnosis- Acid Reflux (just like Taylyn), colic and possibly RSV. He sent me home with medicine for the first two and then said that whatever he had was viral and we just had to wait it out. On a positive note he had already gained almost 3 pounds. A week later and he continued getting worse so we took him back to the doctor. They tested him and he did have RSV so this time I came home with a breathing machine and they sucked out his nose. I feel so bad for him because he seems so miserable. Once again he has gained more than a pound this week. He's now 11 pounds 8 ounces. I sure know how to fatten my babies up! He also got the baby acne all over his head. Poor guy!

On a funny note he came out with the biggest hands, arms and feet I have ever seen on a baby. Hopefully he got Cody's height and not mine so he can grow into them. They are not the best pictures but you can get a visual of how big they really are.
He seems so small in that big car seat, which he is not a fan of at all, unless the car is moving. He will start to cry the minute we turn off the car. What a stinker!
My Little Angel! He was not at all amused with his first bath. Once he was out he decided it wasn't too bad. It probably didn't help that Tay had to help and splashed him in the face!!!
He has inherited my ability to sleep for long periods of time! That a boy!!! We are so happy to have Jaxon in our family. He is such a sweet baby and I have loved being able to hold a new baby of my own again. We love him to pieces!

Taylyn Update

What can I say? I can't believe how fast she is growing up. She is learning and picking up on so many things. I laugh a lot during the day at little things she says or does. She has really been loving lately. She tells me all day how much she loves me and Cody and all of the family. Also everything she sees is "so cute," "that makes me happy" and "that's so beautiful." She also lets me know, "I so proud of you mom!" at least a couple times a day. I glad she approves of what I am doing. It is quite funny.

Another funny thing she does is talk to Jaxon. I know exactly what I sound like. She is always telling him, "it's okay buddy, you will be alright." whenever he cries. "Hey Jax Man what you doing," when she sees him. I decided I better watch my mouth, since she is picking up on everything that comes out of my mouth.

She has also figured out how Jaxon eats. The first couple of times she saw me feeding him she was very curious. Then she started trying to breastfeed Mickey and her baby. She stood trying to figure out how to hold Mickey while she fed him, she thought and tried and eventually decided her belly button would do. After a couple of times trying she finally got the hang of it. She even burps them when she is done, and tells me when they need to go to the bathroom or change their diapers, and when it is time for them to go to the bed. She will be a great mom someday!!!

Taylyn did really well when we brought Jaxon home from the hospital and I thought we were in the clear but she started needing her binkie when Jaxon did and talking like a baby instead of using the words she knows. Luckily it only lasted a week but I really tried to spend some one-on-one time with her each day. This day we decided to have a picnic on the deck. She didn't eat much but had a ton of fun.
A couple weeks after bringing Jax home we decided it was time to potty-train Taylyn. I had tried doing it before I had the baby but Tay was not ready and I didn't have the energy to fight her. She spent two days without going in the toilet and then finally she did it. We made a huge deal and things just clicked. We have only had one maybe two accidents a day for the first couple of days and then she went three days without even one. She has been keeping her pull-ups dry most nights and during her naps. The first time she went poo in the toilet was quite hilarious. She told me she needed to go pee pee and sat down on her potty. After a while she jumped up and yelled, "I made a green snake!!" She was so excited and ran in to tell Cody. He of course made a big deal. The next day she went a little in her underwear so I set her down to try and finish on the toilet. I went to change Jaxon and came running back when I heard her screaming. She had tried to clean herself up and had it all over her hands, legs and clothes. She was absolutely freaked out (I sure did a number on her by giving her my OCD), so we had to go straight to the bath. I was so bummed because it made her scared to poo in the the toilet. I had a couple of days cleaning it out of her diapers but finally she made a green alligator as she called it and now she is back to using the toilet. Thank goodness! She has even started using the real toilet which is wonderful for me so I don't have to clean up the little one anymore. Here is her throne that she spent a lot of time on the first couple of days!

We were doing a sticker book together and I put a few on her face. She thought it was pretty funny so I put some more on. We had a good time. She told me take a picture of her so here are a few.

Taylyn has definitely had her terrible two moments but we love her to pieces and she brings so much joy and plenty of laughter to our lives.

Jax and Tay

Taylyn and Jaxon are getting along quite well. Taylyn loves to help and is very interested in everything he does, except for crying. Whenever he starts to cry she tells me, "Mommy Jaxon is crying make him stop!" or "I don't like him to be sad, make him happy!" She constantly wants to hold him or have him sit by her.
She asked to hold him and actually kept him about 5 minutes and then she was finish and told me it was my turn to take him. Thanks for the permission Tay!!!What a great big sister!
She was just checking him out thinking he was pretty cool until he started to scream!
Jaxon is sure lucky to have such a great big sister. We have told her enough, that she will now tell us, "I wuv (love) my brother, I a good sister!" at least 5 times a day. As sweet and gentle as she is with him I guess she can say it all she wants.

Family Visits

Jaxon had many visitors after we got home from the hospital. Of course I only got a few pictures because I didn't think about it until after they were gone, but here are the few I did take.

Jaxon with Aunt Maile. He looks quite relaxed.

Here he is with his cousin Aiden. Aiden is about 10months older than Jaxon. What a difference in size!!!!

Collin and Jaxon just hanging out. Collin had a Jaxon in his belly for quite awhile until I had Jax and then he also had his Jaxon the same day. What a character!!!

Brandon thought he was going to go crazy waiting to see the baby. He got sick so he had to wait until he got better before he could come over.

Here is Jaxon with Addy. She held him until he started to cry and then she handed him back over to my mom!
Tina, Kayla and Rachel stopped by on their way to Salt Lake for a visit and of course each took a turn holding him.

Weekend with Nana and Maile

While I went into the hospital Taylyn was with Maile and Linda. She had a blast. They went to the park, went shopping, had sleep overs, and much much more. I was a little worried she wouldn't want me to come home but when I came in she ran up and gave me a hug and said, "Mommy you home, I so excited." That made me feel better that she still loves me to be home. During her sleep over Maile was laying with her to help her go to sleep and all of a sudden Tay's face was about 2 inches from her and she said, "you hear that? What that noise?" Any little noise she heard she responded the same way. It happened quite a bit before she went to sleep.
It was so nice to know she was having fun and being taken care of while I was in the hospital. I sure missed her while I was gone.
