Papa and Grandma May Came to Visit

My parents came to visit us one last time in Florida. They got in early Friday morning and were very tired. They slept off and on throughout the day so they were rested to go to Wicked. My parents have never been to a Broadway play before and so I was excited to be able to do it with them. They slept off and on during the first half but both perked up during the last half. At intermission I explained to my Dad the background of the play and he said that he enjoyed it much more once he knew what was going on. I absolutely loved the play. It might be one of my favorites. It was also nice to have a date night with Cody. It has been a long time since we have done anything. We found ourselves rushing through dinner and had to remind ourselves that we didn't need to hurry because we didn't need to entertain Taylyn. We had the Branch President's daughter come over and Taylyn loved her and they had a blast. It was an amazing night!

My parents were here for almost a week. Taylyn loved all the attention she got from them. My mom spent a lot of time outdoors, which is where Tay would love to spend all of her time. They blew bubbles, went for walks, played ball (my mom bought it for her and she wasn't quite sure what to do with it but she has got the hang of it now and even tries to kick it with her feet), read books, played with Papa's can and walker, ate all their food, and just plain got spoiled. We went to a little pizza place on the beach, drove around to show them around, went to the zoo, and just sat around and talked! While we were driving around Taylyn had had enough. She was getting really fussy and whining so we were trying to distract her as much as we could. She got a hold of some tissues and very intently tore them into little shreds and handed it to us like we needed it. She was very proud of herself. My mom also helped me make cinnamon rolls. It took us two tries because I just always buy whatever flour I see first and didn't realize that self-rising flour should not be used to make anything with yeast, salt or baking powder. My mom couldn't figure out what was going on with the rolls and then noticed the flour. So we threw it out and started again. They ended up turning out pretty good for my first time.

It was sure great to have them here. They have have always been such good examples to me and I loved having them in my home. You are never too old to need your parents around!!! We can't wait to be back where we are just a couple driving hours away instead of a long plane ride away!

Lolly Pop!

We gave Taylyn her first sucker at a restaurant that we went to with a bunch of my family. She loved it and was quite sad when Daddy took it away after just a few licks!

Last Vacation to Utah! Soon to be HOME!

We had our final spring break and trip back west the middle of March. It was very busy and eventful. Cody was extremly sick for 3 days before we left. He did not get out of bed for literally 28 hours. He barely made it through the flight, which meant I was on Taylyn duty all by myself. She was much better than I thought she would be. Luckily there was a dog near us (thankfully not ours because Roxie was in a drug in-duce sleep) that was annoying people with its constant bark that Tay's little cries every now and then was nothing. We finally got to Cedar by about 3:00am which is 5:00 in Florida and we were exhausted. It took a couple days of sleeping and Cody was finally starting to feel better, but I got a horrible sinus infection and was in bed for 3 day. We had so much to get done while we were there so we could move home in June!!!!Even through all the sickness we met with the banker, lawyer, Cody's Uncle, found an amazing deal on a renting a house, spent time with family, and was successful in letting Grandpa and Grandma spoil Taylyn to pieces! They took care of her a lot because I was so sick, it was sure nice to be able to take it easy while I was sick. As we were getting ready to leave I realized I didn't even take any pictures so as we were walking out the door I snapped a few. We spent a day in Overton before we flew out and it was so much fun to spend time with my sister Jennifer and her family.
I went to lunch with Michelle and Melissa (2 of my sistersa) and their kids while we were there. Then we went back to my sisters house so they could play. Taylyn actually did better than I thought she would with all the kids. She is just not used to having cousins around.

Taylyn still talks about her cousin Tathie (as Tay calls her).

Here is pictures with Grandma( who was Tay's favorite this trip), Maile, and Grandpa.

This is the sweet house we are living in for a year. We couldn't decide whether to buy or rent and a friend of Cody's parents offered to rent his house for a year so we could really look around and find something we really wanted instead of rushing into something. The house is beautiful and I am excited about all the space, however some of the rooms will have to be completely empty because we have no furniture to fill it with!!! The second picture is of the kitchen which I think I am the most excited about after the tiny kitchens I am used to.

Little Miss Attitude!

She is gaining a lot of attitude. This is the face accompanied with a scream I get when I try to get her to do something she doesn't want to, especially when it is taking her away from kicking Roxie's dog food all over the floor and playing in the water. I am trying hard to get rid of it before she gets even closer to 2, but I am only having a tiny ounce of luck. It is taking a lot of patience and consistency. At times it is so funny because I can tell it is very forced on her part so I have to work hard at keeping a straight face. I definitely don't want her to know I think it is funny!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter Everyone! Cody's parents bought Taylyn an Easter Dress. I didn't know if we were going to be here for Easter to wear it to church so I made her wear it early. Cody doesn't like a lot of fluff and girly stuff but he agreed that he thought she looked adorable but said he had never seen her look so girly. Hope everyone has a great Easter holiday and remembers the true meaning!

Busy Girl!

My Little Reader!
She loves to sit and look at books and always brings them to Cody when he is home over me. I guess he reads better than I do!!!

My Cowgirl! She now loves the horse Cody got months ago. She gets so excited to get on it. Yes, that is American Idol on the TV. I have really gotten into it during the last 2 seasons.

Playful!
She is finally getting better playing with children her own age. She is best with Brynlee and they are quite funny together. Brynlee runs trying to get the dog to chase her. Tay runs after Brynlee thinking she is chasing her. The dog runs around barking not sure what is going on. The girls giggle and scream and have a great time! It has relieved a lot of worry on my part that she is doesn't get along with others. She used to cry if they looked at her or touched her. She is definelty getting better.

Bubbles!
I introduced her to bubbles. She thinks they are so funny. As soon as we walk on the back patio she runs over to them and points saying "bubba, bubba" until I blow a few. She dances around with them for a few minutes and then moves on to something else. However, if I try to stop blowing the bubbles and put them around she notices instantly and wants more. I don't quite get it, but needless to say I am becoming pretty good at blowing the bubbles!

Still Main Obsession- Puppies! She is still obsessed with puppies. She usually spends over half her day saying puppy, trying to pick up Roxie or play tug of war with her, and carrying all three of her play puppies around wherever she goes!

Dresses I made!

I am so proud of how they turned out I had to put them on. My friend Chelsey taught me how to make them when she was here visiting. It was actually way easier than I thought it would be. All I used was a woman's t-shirt and a baby onesie. I also made bloomers to cover up her diapers and the lovely designs they have to put on them, like Elmo and Big Bird!

My TV Junkie!

Need I say more! She didn't even take her eyes off the TV for the picture!

Chelsey came to Visit!

One of my best friends from Dental School came to visit. Her husband and Cody were in school together but they moved to St. Louis to go to Orthodontics school after graduation. Her friend was getting married so she decided to come back to a place she probably vowed she would never come again!!! We didn't do much but eat, sleep and talk. We just sat around all day and hung out. It was so fun even though we didn't do anything real adventurous. It was great to see her again. She taught me how to make Taylyn a dress and I showed her how to make bows. I know this is a horrible picture of me but the other one I took looks worse!!!!

Church Renovations!

Our chapel is very much due for some renovations. They are fixing a lot of problems as well as adding some new sections for more classrooms. So know we are going to the Stake Center where we are sharing the building with 3 other wards. It was a bit crazy on Sunday but hopefully it will get better. Anyway I wanted to get a picture (much against Cody's wishes) but our old church before we moved. It doesn't show much of the building but this is the church we have been going to since we have been out here. This was also the same Sunday I had to speak for the 3rd time in 2 years and for those of you who know me well I do not like to speak in church. It is weird that I am a teacher but don't like to speak in front of people. Tell me how that works!!! Cody also had to make up a talk during Sacrament meeting because the third speaker didn't show up. He is so good at doing that. It sounds as if he spent all week on the talk. It's not fair!!!

The favorite spot in the house!

We have a futons mattress without the frame sitting on the floor. I hated it at first but it is now Taylyn's favorite place to be. She loves it best when Daddy gets home and they sit there and read books and play fetch with Roxie. She will take her toys over to it and play on it. It was funny when she was finally able to master stepping up on it without crawling. She will just walk up on top and laugh and then run off it and start all over. I caught a few pictures with Tay and Cody. I am beginning to worry about her a little. Her new thing is to stand on it and hit her head against the wall. It sounds like it must hurt really bad but she just laughs and does it again. What a wierdo!!She sure loves her Daddy!

New Clothes

Taylyn had a shopping trip with Grandpa and Grandma Wilson and got very lucky. She did say thank you by playing with them and even went to Grandpa and sat on his lap. (She is been really standoff with any men besides her dad in the past). Grandpa was very happy. Whenever she gets new clothes and I get to play dress-up again I always think she looks so cute so I have to take pictures. I know, I know I am becoming one of the those moms and for that I apologize but I will probably keep doing it!!! These are a few of the latest!

Taking Roxie for a Walk

I am afraid I have starting something that I will be sorry about. When we go on walks in the stroller I will let Taylyn hold Roxie's lease sometimes. Well she decided she needs to do it the whole walk now. Then I was just taking the two of them to the side of our condo a for a quick walk for both of them (Taylyn was restless after being in church all afternoon). I let her hold the leash while she was walking. She loved it! She always wants to take Roxie outside now and points to the leash so we will put it on Roxie. Roxie on the other hand hates her leash to begin with and know has to suffer through Taylyn holding on the other end. I also decided I must yell at Roxie a lot because when Roxie doesn't do what Taylyn would like her to (which would be all of time) she will yell at her. When go out back Taylyn will stand at the sliding glass door and yell "Oxie"and pats her leg until Rox comes outside and then when the dog goes out on the grass she yells at her until she comes back in the house. It is quite funny to watch but I feel bad for Roxie. I guess I better start watching what I say and do!!!!

Ready to Party!

I had a bridal shower at my house for one of the girls from our branch. Cody headed to the Bass Pro Shop while I just had Taylyn stay with me for the party. I got the house cleaned and them got Tay in her party dress and new hair clip. We also bathed Roxie and put on her Christmas jewelry that Cody's aunt gave us. I know I am bias but they were both too cute not to take a picture of. Taylyn walked around the house pointing at Roxie's jewelry saying "Bling, Bling!" One of our family friends taught her that while she was visiting. I guess it is only fitting since we live in Florida where there is a lot of Bling here.

Roxie ready for the party. She was not amused with all the jewelry.
Do we both look alright? Last minute check for perfection!!!
Lets Party!

Juice Boxes

Cody went shopping with me the other day and bought Taylyn some juice boxes. So when he was feeding her dinner that night he decided to give it a try. She loves to drink from straws so within about 1 minute the juice box was gone with out even pulling away from the juice box one time. Cody commented that he sure hopes she never starts to drink or we will have a big problem on our hand!!!

Late Nights!

I think that Taylyn has inherited Cody's nightmares. She sometimes wakes up just screaming and we have to take her completely out of her room to calm her down. Well the other night it happened again and I could tell she didn't feel good as well. So we gave her some tynolal and let her hang out with us for a little while. She decided she had had enough snuggling and wanted to sit on her own. She sure loves to use the black chair (it is actually Roxie's chair that she sits in and is one more thing Taylyn is taking away from her once wonderful life).

My Little Pianist

Taylyn loves to play the piano when I am at work. When she wakes up from her nap and I am done tutoring she loves to play Katie's (girl I babysit) keyboard. She actually starts off very sweet and soft but gets to excited and starts hitting it too hard so we have to distract her to something else so she doesn't break it.

Taylyn and her Katie

Tay absolutely loves the girl I pick up from school. Here are a couple of pictures with the two of them. She asks about her Katie whenever we get in the car, because she thinks we are going to pick her up. She is also starting to really like Chris (Katie's brother), however, his name is a little harder for Taylyn to get down. She usually ends up calling him Katie as well.
This is a doll desk but fits Tay perfectly! She loves to play with it.
