Visiting Cedar City, Utah

After Houston we went home with Grandpa and Grandma Wilson. We had a lot of fun and Taylyn loved all the attention she received. I am going to have a monster when I get home! Here are a few pictures of. Grandma taught Tay how to crawl up the stairs and click her tongue.
Tay playing in the back of Grandma's car. She thought she was pretty cool!

She definitely got a workout! She is trying to slim down those thighs!!!

WeRock Day 1

Weekend in Houston, Texas

We went to Houston, Texas on Friday where we met Cody's family to watch his brother, Shon compete in WE Rock (professional jeep rock crawling). We flew in on Friday night and much to our amazement we got in 30 minutes early. What a blessing that was since I thought I plugged Taylyn's DVD player in for 4 hours but forgot to check and make sure it was turned off so I had to entertain her the whole way with Baby Signing Time and Baby Einstein! She did great! When we got to the hotel we all ate dinner at a revolving restaurant and saw all of Houston. It was cool to see all the city at night!
Saturday we all loaded up and drove out to where the competition was. It was so much fun but it was extremely hot. Shon had the guy who paints his jeep paint Tay a shirt to match. She was definitely styling' and looked adorable in the shirt. Taylyn had a blast and enjoyed all the attention she received from the family. I was surprised at how happy she was for only having a little cat nap and all the heat. She even got to sit in the jeep and play. Shon and Buzz (his partner) were very fun to watch, but there jeep had a few problems. The jeep was overheating and caught on fire but the finished the day anyway. They put on a bunch of ice to cool down the engine and then finished the last course. After it was over we went to the mall and then back to the hotel to clean up and go to dinner.
Sunday we went back to the rock crawl and once again enjoyed watching the action. It is crazy how these jeeps go over the rocks, roll and get back up and start on fire and come back to the next course. I love going to watch them. Taylyn on the other hand had had enough heat and lack of sleep and was slightly irritable but she made it through. She got something in her eye and then rubbed them and her eye started to swell and she was ready to go. We were able to go back to the hotel and shower and get some dinner before heading off to the airport. I came home with Cody's family to spend some time back west, but Cody had to go back to school.
I split the pictures of the weekend up into slide shows according to the days. Hope you enjoy looking at them.

I am a big girl now!

Taylyn is trying out her new carseat. I hope this will make her be a little happier when we are in the car. She is good for about 10 minutes and then she gets really frustrated and starts grunting and screaming! She seemed to like her chair so I am crossing my fingers a new chair will work for a few months until I can switch her to facing forward!

What a way to sleep!

Taylyn will sit up in her bed and talk and play if she thinks it isn't time to take her nap. I always go in to check on her and cover her up once she is asleep. I went in on Sunday and this is how I found her. She was not pleased when I tried to move her to a better sleeping position!

My Baby is already 9 months!

I can't believe that Taylyn is already 9 months. She is extremely busy and doesn't like to be held anymore. She has also started throwing fits and I am not sure how to handle them. You would think that my college degree and 5 years of teaching would have taught me how to deal with a temper tantrum, but no luck! I guess I will be prepared to discipline when she is around 2nd and 3rd grade. Hopefully I can figure out something before then. I said I would never have a brat but I may be eating my words. It is just a good thing she is so adorable and is a blast to play with. That makes up a little for her daily tamper tantrum when she can't crawl where she wants and can't eat what she finds on the ground! We love her to pieces and can't believe how much she is growing and developing. I took her to her 9 month checkup on Monday. She is 20 pounds 4 ounces (75th percentile), 28 inches long (80th percentile) and her head is 18 inches (90th percentile). Needless to say she is very healthy!!! She sure has firmed up my arms from carrying her all the time. I don't need to go to the gym for my arms thanks to Taylyn!

New Adventures

Taylyn has found two new places she loves to play. She is always under the table where she plays with toys, watches her movies or follows Roxie to her food. She has also learned how to use a box of water bottles to stand on and climb over.

Labor Day at the Beach!

We went to Red Reef National Park for Labor Day with a group of friends. At this particular beach there are really good places to snorkle close to the shore. I actually was able to overcome my fear of snorkling that I found out I had in Hawaii on our Honeymoon! I had to go slow but I eventually I got the hang of it and didn't freak out once. Cody was very proud! He just might take me back to Hawaii some day!

Nighttime at the Wilson's

Every night while I make Taylyn's bedtime bottle Cody takes her outside with Roxie to look around because she gets so mad when she sees her bottle and it is not in her mouth. I caught them on camera last night. Daddy and Taylyn looking around and Roxie in attack mode with her ears up ready to get the ducks!

Taylyn's 1st BooBoo

Taylyn is scooting all over the place. She has gotten really fast and loves climbing over anything she can find like, Cody and I, highchair legs, baby saucer and much more. On Thursday she was climbing on the legs of a desk chair with wheels and it turned and she slid off and starting screaming. I looked at the side of her face and realized she had received her first bump and scrape. She was very sad for quite awhile and I got in a little bit of snuggling but then she went right back to the chair. Needless to say I had to hide the chair!
