Thanksgiving 2007

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! We hope that you all had a great day. We stayed here in Florida for our last year. It is always hard not to be with family but we have great friends that we were able to spend it with. Cody, Tony(his brother), Cody McGarry, and Neil (his brother) went fishing in the morning. They had a great time and were all able to catch at least one fish. They even brought home Mahi Mahi that we ate the day after Thanksgiving (See slide show below). When they got home I finished up the food and then McGarry's came over. We had so much food just for the 6 of us but it was a lot of fun and got very full.

I am so grateful for Thanksgiving and the chance to look back at my life and remember what I am thankful for. I have been blessed with a wonderful husband and beautiful baby girl. I can't imagine a life without them. We are grateful for both sets of parents who love and support us so much. We have also been blessed with an amazing family with brothers, sisters, in-laws and lots of nieces and nephews and can't wait to be closer to them. We have made so many friends out here in Florida throughout Cody's schooling, which has made it easier to be so far from home. I am grateful for the gospel and the comfort it brings into my life. I could go on and on but Cody says I have become a Blogger junkie so I better finish up and get off before he come home! We love you all and hope your Thanksgiving holiday was wonderful!

Words, Words, and more Words!

I have decided Taylyn is going to be quite the talker. She is always making noises and loves to say her 6 words whenever she gets a chance! I have a video with her saying all of the words she knows, but haven't been able to figure out how to put them on my blog. Since I am using this as kind of like a journal I figured I could at least write them down. Here are the words she can say:

She loves to say "cracker" and it is her favorite snack.

Everyone is a "baby" to Taylyn!

Whenever we are outside and she sees a plane, she points to it and says "air pain!"

She squeals "PPUUPPIIEE" when she sees one!

We are still working on this one. She is not sure when to use it, but when she is prompted she says"Dain tu!"

And of course she can say "Mommy" and "DaDa!"

Life doesn't get better than this!

Taylyn has a huge love of dogs! She squeals "puppy" whenever she sees one, even if it is in pictures, on bags or posters or while we are driving in the car.

She chases Roxie around and loves it when Charlie (our friends dog) comes to play because he will lick her. She will follow the two of them around the house.

Roxie is learning to tolorate Taylyn a bit more. She has even started dropping toys by Tay and waiting for her to throw them. It only takes Roxie a couple of times before she gives up on Tay's throw of about 3 inches max. They are making progress though!

Mommy and Me Time With the Wii

Taylyn and I played a little Mario on the Wii. Taylyn enjoyed helping me push the buttons while she was munching on some pretzels.

Busy Girl!

Taylyn has started to really enjoy playing with herself. She loves her little bike and pushes it all over the house. She is getting really good at walking behind it as well as all around it. She also loves to sit on it and watch her movies. She really loves to read books. I will find her sitting on the floor with some of her books around her flipping through the pages. Sometimes she will let me read them to her but she has to turn the pages and I am usually not fast enough to finish reading by the time she has turned the page.

She is such a sweet girl and I love to just watch her play and make silly noises. She is very busy but she makes me laugh each day and always has time to come over and pull on my pants so I will pick her up and then she will give me a hug and then she is ready to be off once again. Some days she want to hug so much she will hug the couch, bed, stuffed animals, toys, her blanket and even the floor! What a sweetheart!!!!She is hugging the floor!

The Best Toys!

Taylyn always has the funnest time with objects that are not toys. I have been trying to de-clutter my house and bought some of those airtight vacuum bags to save space. I had filled some of them up with clothes but hadn't decided where to put them so they were stacked in my room. Taylyn decided they were so fun to climb on and push around the house. She played with them for about 15 minutes. I'm not sure why I even bother buying her toys!

Stacker

Cody and I are opposite when it comes to papers. I love my stuff in a neat stack and can always find what I need. Cody is a spreader and has his stuff spread all over but can always find what he needs. I always get frustrated with his way and vice-versa. Well Taylyn has been blessed (according to Cody) to understand the true divine nature of organization and is a spreader like her father. She can't stand stuff on anything that is in a pile.

Our Daughter the Plummer!

New Curtains!

I decided the kitchen needed curtains. This is when I wish I had spent more time with my mom when she use to sew. I talked with her for a while over the phone and sent a couple set of pictures so she could help me figure out how to do them. Well I put Taylyn down for a nap and was able to get it finished without much trouble I was very proud of myself.

Cody Handyman Again!

Well as we begin to think about selling we have tried to make some repairs and improvements to the condo. In our kitchen we have drop down ceilings that looked pretty hammered, so Cody decided it wouldn't be to expensive or hard to replace the structure and sheets. It took him from 10:00am-10:00pm and about 5 trips to Home Depot in 2 days, but it looks great. I was so proud of him.

Everything torn down and ready to begin!
Tools Out on Table! He had to buy about 4-5 more tools.
I think that is why he wanted to do the project!

Lil' Ms. Priss!

This is a picture of Tay' s new Sunday dress. I even bought her tights to wear with it (not that she needs them here in Florida). I just thought she looked adorable so I had to take a picture before she went down for a nap!

6 new teeth in 1 month!

Taylyn now has 4 teeth on bottom and 4 teeth on top. She got all six within 1 month. She was actually really good this time. It was only a few days of her being miserable instead of a month like her first two! It looks so cute, but I have to get better at remembering to brush them now! I am afterall a Dentist's wife!

Finally Crawling!

Taylyn is finally crawling on all fours instead of the army crawl. She still resorts to the army crawl if she is in a real hurry. However, she is now starting to walk around the table and anything else she can find to hold on to. She is also getting brave and even lets go and tries to stand on her own.

Play Date with Brynlee

I babysat Brynlee (my friend Kylee's little girl) for a couple of hours. Her and Tay are about 7 months apart. They are finally able to play a little and didn't have too many meltdowns with toys. Tay love to watch Brynlee and thinks she is pretty funny. I decided after getting them both fed, changed and down to bed that having two children was a lot of work. Cody was glad to hear that I am still wanting to wait for baby #2 for a little while!!

New Pony and Bike!

I sent Cody to the store for some ice cream and he came back with a pony for Taylyn. He couldn't wait until the morning so she could play with it. She enjoys rocking on it and loves to give it kisses!

Elle (Cassi (in Cody's residency) daughter) gave Taylyn her old Dora the Explorer bike. She loves to ride around on it and enjoys climbing all over it! She is having a blast!

What is Mom going to do with this New Phase?

I don't know how I am going to handle the new phase of Taylyn feeding herself! I am kind of a clean freak and can't stand it when Taylyn gets dirty, especially in her face. I wipe between her bites if she gets it on her face when I feed her; so this is going to be interesting now that she is feeding herself a little . I gave her a baby biscuit and it was all I could do to let her get messy and not wipe between bites. I figured I should at least take a picture of her so I can embarrass her later in life to get back at her for how crazy a messy face makes me. I am slowly improving on the impulse I have to keep her face clean as she eats!

The Elephant!

Taylyn got a new towel because she has grown out of her other ones. Cody liked the elephant one so that is what we bought but Tay is not a fan. She kept trying to pull it off her head.

Time with Grandpa and Grandma May

Grandma introduced her to the refrigerator!

She had a blast playing outside and that is all she wanted to do all day!
Grandma gave her a flower and she didn't know quite what to do with it.
She tore it up into little pieces!
Oops I got caught!I helped my mom plant some flowers and Tay sat on that blanket for an 1 1/2 and played, talked and laughed. She doesn't like the feel of the grass so she never ventured off the blanket!

My mom found out why I fold my clothes on the bed. She was throwing the clothes out faster than my mom could fold them. Then she decided to just climb in.
She loved my Dad' s fancy new walker. She was always trying to get up on the seat. My mom took her for a ride on it. She was in heaven laughing and smiling, but she was really mad when I made her get off of it so we could go.
She played a lot with Garrett and Addison while we were home. She even went to watch Garrett play football. She sure enjoyed it!
Addison also enjoyed reading to Tay but told Tay firmly but with gentle voice that she was reading to Tay so Tay couldn't hold another book.
