Taylyn's 8th Month Photo Shoot!

The first time I took Taylyn to get professional pictures it took me two sessions and no smiling pictures. We pretty much bought them on principle alone. There were a few good ones but no really smiley ones. We went this time and she was amazing. We finished in less than 30 minutes and that was with a change of clothes. She was very happy and smiley in all of them, which made me spend a little more than I had intended. I wanted Cody to help me eliminate some but he couldn't decide either so we bought the CD with all of them. Here are just a few of the adorable pictures, but I am slightly bias!

A touch of Testosterone

Odd title I know, however, with a female dog, wife and now daughter it helps to have a masculine say in things every now and then. Taylyn is growing up to be a golfer or volleyball player much to my delight because she went a day with a visor on and seemed to like it alot. 300 came out finally (following in the Gladiator formula: swords + death = manhood) but with my current church calling I received Nacho Libre instead for my birthday-oh well. Hope all is well and don't hesitate to drop by for a round of golf sometime.
Cody

Producer Once Again!

As Shon (Cody's brother) would say I have once again become a producer for our family. I started working again. I am babysitting and tutoring after school. The families I work for are great and things are working out well. I even get to take Taylyn most of the time so I don't have to get a babysitter for her. I do miss teaching at times but I love being home with Taylyn.

Cody the Handyman!

I decided that I had to have handles on my kitchen cupboard. When I get an idea of a project to do all I can think about or talk about is that particular project. So I gave Cody a guilt-trip and he agreed to put them up for me. I told him that because he works with millimeters everyday that it would be a perfect job for him. He pulled down the doors and took out the hinges because I am very anal and had to have everything matching. Cody drilled and I spray painted the old hinges. It took half the day but I feel like I have a new kitchen.

The only problem is as soon as the drawers were put back Taylyn scooted in and opened the bottom one. She didn't realize she could pull stuff out and play with it. I am sure it won't be long!

What a weekend!

After 9 long waited months I was finally able to go to the
movie theatre and watch a movie. I took Cody (for a late birthday dinner) with a couple friends to the Japan Inn for a Hibachi Dinner and then it was off to the watch Rush Hour 3. I had forgotton how nice it is to watch a movie at the theatre! We had a great evening and Taylyn loved playing with Jenisa (her favorite person at church). She actually played so hard she slept until 9:00am. What a blessing for us!

I see some Teeth!

With a lot of taken and deleted pictures (I love having a digital camera) I was finally able to capture her first tiny teeth. She is still drooling an amazing amount but at least she has something to show for it. Taylyn loves to run her tongue over her teeth all during the day. She has also learned to rub them against objects like her sippy cup, her brush and rubber ducky and it makes a noise (like nails on a chalkboard) that makes Cody cringe!

New Adventures!

Taylyn has found a new use for her saucer. She
decided it was funner to crawl into it instead of
standing up and planning with the toys. It's like
she has a brand new toy but it didn't cost me
anything this time!!!

She even figured out how to get out of it on her
own with just a little frustration! She is
definitely keeping me busy!

Taylyn's New Love

Taylyn has found a new love: cell phones! As soon as she sees them she is grabbing, scooting, or whatever it takes to reach the cell phone. Then she holds on with a death grip as it goes into her mouth. It is near impossible to loosen her fingers off of it. Whenever it rings she whips her head to find out where it is. She sure is getting BUSY!

Check out my Slide Show!

Cody had a conference in Saint Louis and our friends Daniel and Chelsey live there so I decided it was about time that I got to go on one of his trips instead of staying home alone. We left on Wednesday with a long hot flight. We sat in the airplane without air for about 30 minutes and finally had to take off Tay's pajamas because her back was soaked. We finally made it to St. Louis and stayed up late talking.
Thursday we went to a place called Grant's Farm. Taylyn enjoyed looking at the animals but we didn't stay long because it was extremely hot.
Friday Chelsey and I got to go shopping or at least walking around the mall with no children. It was very relaxing. Then we went to Anheuser Busch and toured the plant and learned how to make beer. It was crazy how it all works. We were the only ones at the end drinking soda and not the free beer! Then the boys went to a dinner for the conference and Chelsey and I stayed up late talking and catching up. Cody turned the big 3 0 but I didn't see much of him with everything going on but he did get to go to the movie with part of the old boys club.
Saturday was the conference for the boy and so when Taylyn finally cut her first tooth I had to text message Cody to let him know. I tried to take a picture but it didn't quite work. Then Chelsey and I made dinner for Cody's birthday. I even bought him an Oreo ice cream cake. Then we went down to the arch and watched a free concert (John Michael Montgomery) and watched fireworks over the Mississippi River. It was extremely hot and humid but we all enjoyed hanging out.

Saint Louis Trip (Aug 07)

Roxie's trip to the Dentist

We sent Roxie in for her first cleaning since her breath was fetid like fromunda and this is the report we received back....along with a $1050.00 dental bill. I have apparently chosen the wrong specie to specialize on.

Yes, those are radiographs and intraoral pictures of my dog's teeth.

Post St Louis Update:

Exciting trip to SLU for the family, friends and Boyz Club. The heat was unbearable and Taylyn pretty much went naked everywhere outside, which we were surprised to find was pretty standard for Midwest babies (usually here in South Florida it's reserved for late teens). Fireworks and concert on the M i s s i s s i p p i (if you can't spell that you're going to lose "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader" for sure) Saturday night all funded by Anheuser-Bush; as was the Zoo, Arch, Petting Zoo and tour with complimentary refreshments (if you know what I mean). It was a great time!!
